Team

Dr. Aakash Setty

Dr. Aakash Setty is a physician, biomedical engineer, and mentor with a passion for solving problems and bringing ideas to life. He is currently an Emergency Medicine resident at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System, serving within the region’s healthcare safety net for underserved communities across Miami-Dade County.

Dr. Setty completed his biomedical engineering and medical degrees through a selective BS/MD program at Brown University. During his training, he gained experience across device industry R&D (Medtronic, Draper Labs, Medline), early-stage startups (Embonet, Lenoss Medical), and community volunteerism, including work with health centers, beekeeping initiatives, and cultural organizations.

As a co-founder of Avella Ventures, Dr. Setty is committed to helping curious, driven students learn how to think creatively, scope projects, identify and overcome roadblocks, and build a broad, durable knowledge base. Having mentored dozens of students over the past decade, he is excited to continue providing high-quality guidance for college, medical school, graduate study, and early professional paths. His goal is to give students the tools, confidence, and standards to pursue ambitious work and create lasting impact now and in the years ahead.

Dr. Vamsi Reddy

Dr. Vamsi Reddy is a physician, operator, and mentor working at the intersection of medicine, strategy, and technology. He currently serves as Chief of Staff at Predoc, an AI-driven health information exchange focused on reimagining how health information is accessed and used across healthcare systems.

Dr. Reddy completed his medical training through a selective BS/MD program at the Medical College of Georgia and went on to complete a year of neurosurgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, gaining firsthand experience in high-acuity clinical environments. He later joined McKinsey & Company, where he spent three years advising leading health systems and academic medical centers on strategy and operations, helping translate complex clinical challenges into scalable, real-world solutions.

As a co-founder of Avella Ventures, Dr. Reddy is deeply committed to mentoring curious, driven students and empowering them to explore ambitious ideas across research, technology, business, and creative problem-solving. He is inspired by helping students expand their intellectual horizons, take ownership of meaningful projects, and build the confidence and skills needed to create lasting impact, wherever their paths may lead.
